Town Clerk & Responsible Finance Officer

Salary: SCP 35 – 38 £30,785 - £33,437, dependent on experience

Westgate-on-Sea Town Council is seeking to appoint a Town Clerk/RFO who will take overall responsibility for the Council’s day to day operations whilst helping develop and implement its future growth strategy and associated plans.

As a newly formed Council, Westgate is primarily taking back assets and services from Thanet District Council in order to improve the quality of life for its residents.

Working from the Council’s new offices in the town centre, applicants must be able to demonstrate a capacity to think and act strategically, have experience of administrative management; an ability to understand local government law and procedure; experience of line management of staff; financial management knowledge; the capacity to successfully represent the Town Council in discussions with external bodies; and competent IT skills.

The Town Council is ideally looking for CiLCA qualified candidates, with consideration given to those already studying towards their qualification.

The position is full time with a starting salary of SCP 35 – 38 £30,785 - £33,437, dependent on experience.
