Many congratulations to SLCC Advisor & Induction Support Officer, Sarah Jeffries, who last weekend completed the Cotswold Way Challenge, a 100km run from Bath to Cheltenham! www.cotswoldwaychallenge.com
Sarah is no stranger to meeting demanding challenges and has previously run Marathons and trekked with Gurkhas in Nepal. Her gruelling training programme (see below) was undertaken while balancing a busy life as a wife and mum and clerk to several small parishes in Wiltshire.
Sarah managed to complete the run and knocked off an hour from her time last year , but also finished in the top 8% which as Sarah says: “For a 54 year old wasn't too bad!”. Her husband brought her a beautiful silver ring engraved with "every mile makes you stronger" to celebrate a truly impressive performance which “beat many of the body builder men and younger women”. Sarah finished with two black toe nails and is now recovering by cycling 30 miles and swimming every other day!
