Lesley Swinbank, Clerk to Hawthorn PC in County Durham, received the principal award, the Outstanding Contribution Award
At the annual awards ceremony which opened this year’s SLCC National Conference, the following awards listed below, were presented.
Chief Executive, Rob Smith, said their efforts are typical of the excellent work being undertaken behind the scenes by parish council clerks up and down the country to support their elected councillors in effectively representing and serving their local communities.

Nominations for the awards were submitted by branches and a panel comprising the President, Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Chief Executive, who had the difficult task of deciding upon a shortlist and the final winner. At the awards, it was emphasised that any member can nominate someone for an award to their branch, so were urged to look out for the invitation to nominate early next summer.
