The Home Office’s Victims of Terrorism Unit has launched a public consultation ‘to understand public support for a National Day and explore how a National Day for Victims and Survivors of Terrorism should be commemorated’.
In addition to seeking views on whether there is support for a National Day, the consultation ‘also allows the opportunity for respondents to shape key aspects of a National Day by inviting opinions on a potential name, date and the ways it could be commemorated’.
People impacted by terrorism and individuals or organisations with an interest in victims and survivors of terrorism are encouraged to take part.
More information on this consultation and how to respond can be found here.
Both English and Welsh consultation documents are available, as well as an accessible version of each here and here. Please note the consultation closes on 11 June 2025.
