SLCC Chief Executive, Rob Smith, along with SLCC outgoing President, David Preston, launched Local Council Consultancy (LCC) at the SLCC National Conference on 10th October 2018.
Providing a consultancy service has long been an ambition of the Society. LCC will offer a wider range of consultancy support and a locum service through a network of Associates engaged on a task by task basis. Associates will not be employees of the Society but they will be expected to bring knowledge and experience gained from previous employment along with a core skill set enabling them to work on projects and assignments.
LCC will be open for business from October 2018 and has already started responding to enquiries which can be made through firstname.lastname@example.org.
The range of areas that LCC has expertise in includes Governance, Procurement, HR and staffing, Pay and Job Evaluation, Recruitment, Service Delivery, Community Engagement, Markets, Horticulture, Managing Volunteers, Allotments, Burials and Cemeteries and Play Areas/Sports Facilities. And where necessary, LCC can seek advice from the Society’s experts and advisors to ensure it is up to date and compliant with the whole range of legislative and procedural guidance.
