What will I learn in Level 4?

YEAR ONE

The Level 4 qualification (CertHE) is worth 120 CPD points.  It normally takes two years so you study 60 points each year.  Some modules are compulsory and sometimes you have a choice from a pair of modules. Modules are worth 15 points.

Modules are taught in alternating years. In 2019 the modules are as follows:

  • SLCC1001 Community Governance (15 points)
  • SLCC1011 Local Council Finance (15 points)
  • SLCC1004 Community-led Planning or SLCC1005 The Planning System (15 points)
  • SLCC1008 Organisational Governance or SLCC1009 Reflective Practice (15 points)

YEAR TWO

We then teach the remaining 15pt modules in 2020.

  • SLCC1010 Local Council Law & Procedures (30 points)
  • SLCC1002 Community Engagement or SLCC1003 Community Profile (15 points)
  • SLCC1006 Managing People or SLCC1007 Managing Projects (15 points)


Once you have the CertHE under your belt you can go on to the Level Five course leading to a Foundation Degree.
