Responsible Financial Officer

Council: Sprotbrough & Cusworth Parish Council

Salary: LC Scale 2 fixed spine point 32 (pro rata)

Sprotbrough & Cusworth Parish Council is an active council that seeks a motivated, suitably qualified/experienced person to take on the part-time post of Responsible Financial Officer.
 
The post is one day (7.4 hours) per week. Working from an office base the hours of work will include attendance at some evening council meetings.
 
Salary on LC Scale 2 fixed spine point 32 (pro rata)
 
Suitable candidates must be able to demonstrate local council/local government experience/relevant qualifications, work as part of a small team, meet deadlines, have relevant IT competence. Must be available to attend some evening council meetings throughout the year.
 
Duties will include: the day to day management of the councils financial records, all aspects of banking matters, managing VAT records/ managing payroll requirements/audit procedures including preparing final accounts/budget setting & monitoring/preparation of statements.
 
Monitoring compliance with financial regulations/other council policies and updating as necessary.
 
Prior local council/local government experience & public sector financial qualifications are desirable; continuous professional development training can be provided.
