Westbury-sub-Mendip Parish Council is one of the smallest councils in Somerset with 7 Councillors, a precept of £9,500 and a budget of c£18,000 for 2020/21.
The Council meets 10 times a year with occasional additional meetings for planning matters. There is also a Neighbourhood Plan steering group which meets approximately 4 times a year.
The role is home-based with additional payments to cover costs. Ongoing Clerk’s training is actively encouraged and paid for by the Council. All council meetings take place in the evening either in the village hall, or community hall. A laptop and printer are provided. Knowledge of website management would be advantageous, although this is currently managed by an independent technical advisor.
Hours worked in excess of contract may be invoiced separately, subject to the agreement of the Council.
Applications must be received by 5pm on Tuesday 14th April 2020. Interviews will take place during the third or fourth week of April with appointment commencing 1st May 2020.
