Part-time Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer

The administrative area of Romsey Extra Parish Council (REPC) forms a doughnut shape area surrounding Romsey Town.

The parish boundaries are currently under review by Test Valley Borough Council.

REPC has seven elected councillors. The Parish Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer is the only employee.

Currently, planning matters at REPC level are managed jointly with Romsey Town Council (RTC). An RTC employee provides the administrative support to this joint planning committee.

REPC serves approximately 6278 residents in a developing area with new housing planned and completed annually. Recent developments have included  King’s Chase with its new allotment site. REPC  is currently responsible for the management of these allotments, awaiting the formation of an allotment holders’ committee. There is also a village hall, run by a management committee, bus shelters, defibrillators, benches and gateway accesses to footpaths within the Parish to manage.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced professional who is willing to work from home and who will be willing to develop services for the community working with stakeholders and the seven elected councillors.

Ideally the Clerk/RFO will have the CiLCA qualification or be prepared to study for it within the first twelve months of employment.
