Stirchley and Brookside Parish Council are an innovative and forward thinking parish council based in South Telford with a proud history of partnership working.

Our committed and enthusiastic team of thirteen councillors and sixteen full and part time staff deliver a variety of services to our community including the Sambrook (Community) Centre, Stirchley Community Library, Youth Services, Community Events, Gardening Scheme, Allotments, Play Areas and Environmental Services.

Salary: £26,999 to £30,507 (pro rata) dependent on experience and qualifications
Hours: 12 per week to be worked flexibly (additional hours may be required from time to time)

Under section 151 of the Local Government Act, the post holder will be the council’s designated Responsible Finance Officer (RFO) overseeing the financial management of the parish council. You will ensure that the council has the financial information it needs and that it meets its statutory responsibilities for audit and precepting.

About You

You will have experience in preparing and managing accounts, including payroll and VAT, preferably within a local council. You should be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and be able to work flexibly to meet the business needs of the council.
