Major Tim Peake, the first British astronaut to carry out a spacewalk, is to be granted the Freedom of the City by Chichester City Council.
Major Peake, who was born in the city, will receive the honour at a special council meeting on 25th February and will give a talk on the European Space Agency’s Principia Mission, before meeting young people in the audience.
When tickets for the event went online earlier this week all 1,300 were snapped up in just 8 minutes!
