Councils urged to drop royal wedding road closure fees

Most Sunday newspapers report the Prime Minister is urging principal authorities to waive road closure charges for people hoping to celebrate the royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on 19th May.

Ministers have also launched a revised guide to throwing a street party, reminding organisers to get in touch with local authorities in good time to plan road closures and insurance. It notes that "many councils, from Bromley to Salford” have already said there will be no charges implemented.
