New parish councils for Christchurch and Highcliffe proposed

Later this week, Christchurch Borough Council’s Community Committee will consider final recommendations of a community governance review that a new Christchurch Town Council and a Highcliffe and Walkford Neighbourhood Council will be created on 1st April 2019.

On this date, the former Christchurch Borough Council and all other principal councils in Dorset will be abolished and replaced with two new unitary authorities. The new Christchurch TC will have an electorate of 25,822 and 19 councillors.
