AI Tool ‘Minute’ helps Local Councils Cut Costs and Improve Services

25 local councils across the country are taking part in an early-stage trial of new AI tool ‘Minute’, part of the ‘Humphrey’ suite being rolled out across Whitehall.

Part of the government’s Plan for Change,  the trial includes streamlining burdensome administrative tasks in the planning process to help reach the government’s target of building 1.5 million homes by 2030. The new tool could help ‘speed up actions after planning meetings, allowing officers to focus on the task at hand, rather than paperwork, and make informed decisions to get homes built. This will support approvals, so bricks can be laid and homes built faster.’
