SLCC President Visits Somerset Branch
‘I was kindly invited to visit the Somerset Branch and join them in their meeting on 5 June 2025. We met at the SW Heritage Centre in Taunton, a lovely venue where we heard an interesting presentation from Sam Astill, CEO of the SW Heritage Trust. Sam also offered an in-house tour to those who could stay into the afternoon.
‘Ben Kirk, from Inspired Schools & Inspired Playgrounds, told us about his company and the innovative use of markings to create inspiring play spaces for children.
‘The meeting was well attended and it was a joy to meet so many clerks who were fully engaged throughout the meeting and speaker sessions. There was a busy atmosphere in the room and lots of chat during the refreshment breaks. Paul Wynne PSLCC, Branch Chair, gave lots of encouragement for everyone to network and meet new people.
‘I spoke about my work as President and got some feedback and ideas from some of the members. It was a lovely visit and I extend my thanks to Gerard Tucker, Branch Secretary, Paul Wynne, and all the Somerset members for their kind welcome and friendship on the day.’
