| Bouncebackability: Tools for Thriving Through Change, Challenge and Setback The modern world can feel like a whirlwind — fast-paced, high-pressure, and relentless. It’s no wonder so many of us end up feeling exhausted, stressed, or teetering on the edge of burnout. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, you’re not alone — and you’re not broken. While some people seem to naturally ride the waves of change and challenge, the truth is: resilience isn’t something you’re born with — it’s something you build. The brilliant news? Anyone can develop the mindset, tools, and habits that turn tough times into turning points. This energising, interactive session dives into the science and soul of human bouncebackability — blending insights from positive psychology, cognitive behavioural therapy, post-traumatic growth, growth mindset, and the power of self-talk. (Don’t worry, we keep it light, relatable, and sneakily fun!)
Whether you’re navigating workplace upheaval or just trying to stay afloat in a chaotic world, this session gives you the mental kit to bounce back — and bounce forward. Bouncebackability: Tools for Thriving Through Change, Challenge and Setback |

| Clustering Parish Councils – the French Experience As part of the discussion around the current national devolution plans, NALC have long advocated that parish or neighbourhood councils should be established everywhere. A recent report from the Reform think tank in their series ‘Reimaging The Local State’ https://reform.uk/research/reimagining-the-local-state/ has posed the idea that in order to have capacity to deliver additional services smaller councils should be “clustered” together. Honorary Vice President, Richard Walden FSLCC, who in retirement lives in rural France, will share his experience of clustering of parishes there. Clustering Parish Councils – the French Experience |

Building Playgrounds for All: Designing Accessible and Inclusive Play Parks Delivered by a parent/carer, this workshop will explore the key principles, challenges, and solutions involved in designing play parks that are accessible, inclusive and welcoming for all children, regardless of ability. Play is an essential part of childhood development, offering children opportunities for physical activity, social interaction, and emotional growth. However, for children with disabilities, access to safe, stimulating, and inclusive play spaces can be limited. This session aims to equip attendees with the knowledge and tools needed to create play parks that serve the diverse needs of all children, fostering an environment where everyone can play, learn, and thrive together. Time will be given to explore questions and answers and will empower attendees to reflect upon their play strategy to create play parks that are not only accessible but also inclusive, promoting social inclusion, community well-being, and equal access to the benefits of outdoor play for all children.
