Celebrating SLCC’s 2022 – 2023 Community Governance Students

27 March 2024

There was much to celebrate when SLCC’s award-winning 2022 – 2023 Community Governance students came together for their graduation ceremony at the Civic Hall in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, on Friday 22 March 2024. On the day, Malcolm Nicholson, SLCC President, presented a total of 15 students with their well-earned certificates. In total, 25 certificates were awarded for the 2022/23 cohort across levels 4, 5 and 6.

Rob Smith, SLCC Chief Executive, who was also in attendance to congratulate the students, reminded everyone of SLCC’s new vision ‘Inspiring professionals; empowering councils and communities’, emphasising that “training and education are critical to our achieving that vision, with our Community Governance programme being at the centre of it all.”

Rob added, “I thank our exceptional teaching team for their hard work, and the students for their hard work and commitment, and congratulate them on their significant achievement.”

SLCC would also like to thank Lance Allan FSLCC, Town Clerk, and Juliet Weimar FSLCC, Executive Officer, both of Trowbridge Town Council, who kindly facilitated the hiring of their venue for the event.
