About the trainer:

The Parkinson Partnership LLP

Steve Parkinson has over 30 years of local government finance experience at county, district and town council level, serving as Town Clerk for Alton in Hampshire from 2001 to 2015.  

A Fellow member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) since 1996, Steve has been involved in financial training for over 20 years and started his own accountancy practice in 2015.  The Parkinson Partnership LLP provide specialist VAT and finance advice to councils and charities, as well as delivering quality training for parish, town and community councils in England and Wales.

Steve was Chairman of the Joint Panel on Accounting Guidance (JPAG) from 2013 to 2017 and he is widely recognised for his knowledge of local council finance and VAT.  He was chairman of the Hampshire branch of SLCC for several years and prior to that chairman of the Chiltern branch of AAT. 

Steve was awarded the status of Hampshire Local Council Ambassador in 2009 and won the SLCC Outstanding Contribution Award in 2010.
