Thank you to everyone who got involved in celebrating Local Council Clerk Week (LCCW). This week long event ran from 7–14 June, offering a dedicated opportunity to celebrate and highlight the vital work of local council clerks.
It was great to see so many clerks getting involved, sharing their stories across social media, their council websites, and through articles and videos. SLCC branches also contributed by incorporating celebrations into their meetings.
This year’s theme was Empower Change and the week focused on raising awareness of the role of the clerk and recognising the significant contribution they make to their communities.
Thanks also to support from the National Association of Local Councils (NALC), One Voice Wales, County Associations of Local Councils, councils and councillors, the role of the local council clerk was championed nationwide, raising awareness, appreciation and understanding of the essential work they do at the heart of local communities.
A more detailed write up will follow in the next edition of the Clerk Magazine.
And if you want to get involved next year – watch out for more information in the New Year!
