Overview
This webinar provides an introductory, or refresher, training session for clerks who wish to know more about the Section 106 agreement and the Community Infrastructure Levy (collectively often known as planning obligations). It will also cover their proposed replacement by the Single Infrastructure Levy as part of the Government’s reforms of the planning system.
The aim is to provide greater knowledge and understanding of the complex and changing world of planning obligations.
Planning obligations are a planning charge to help reduce the adverse impacts arising from development. It ensures that developers carry out or contribute financially towards infrastructure or services required by proposed developments, such as new schools, health facilities, affordable housing and open spaces.

“I am a new Assistant Clerk who is responsible for supporting the Planning Committee, this course was very useful to understand some of the elements of planning as a beginner.”
