Budgets are a tool to assist us in planning the financial layout for a defined period, and thus can help us in the important annual task of Precept setting. This can be a daunting prospect if you have never done one, but at the end of this short webinar you should feel confident in starting the process with your council.

About the Trainer

Promoted to Town Clerk and RFO at Banbury in 2022, with 26 staff and a budget of £2m. Mark Hassall joined the Town Council 15 years ago from the private sector, previously working for as a management accountant fulfilling roles in budgeting and financial planning for Barclays, Coca Cola and National Power. Prior to this Mark completed his degree in Psychology and Management at Preston, having previously worked within social care in Kent following a move from my home town of Stroud in Gloucestershire. Mark is currently completing a Masters in Public Leadership and Management.
