About the Trainer

David McCarthy FICCM(Dip)(Hons) ICCM Technical Officer, Institute of Cemetery & Crematorium Management

David has 26 years experience of the management and operation of cemeteries and crematoria working for 20 of those years for the prestigious City of London Cemetery and Crematorium where he held the position of Cemetery and Crematorium Manager. He is a Fellow and Life member of the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management.

David was appointed Technical Services and Guidance Manager in 2008 joining a small team of experienced cemetery and crematorium personnel who deliver training, offer consultancy and supply management placement around the country.

David was responsible for the development of the EROB Training Scheme which shows cemetery professionals how to correctly and legally Grant, Exercise and Transfer the Exclusive Rights of Burial. For this important work David was awarded Fellowship of the Institute.

David retired from full time working for the ICCM in December 2013 but continues to work for the Institute in the delivery of Exclusive Right of Burial Training, Customer Care Training and Cemetery Compliance Training.
