Please note that this webinar is for those looking to undertake CiLCA in the near future. It is strongly recommended to attend this webinar prior to booking a place on the CiLCA training course and registering for the qualification (each of which have separate costs associated with them).

Webinar Overview

The aim of this 60-minute webinar is to help you understand the requirements of the qualification and what is expected of you as a CiLCA candidate.

The webinar is led by an experienced and well-qualified CiLCA trainer who will be able answer all of your questions.

You will need to complete a CiLCA training needs analysis and return it to [email protected] prior to the webinar date.

Requirements

You should have:

  • Minimum of 12 months in your current post working in the sector
  • Achieved ILCA and ILCA to CiLCA or attended training for clerks run by your County Association
  • complete a Training Needs Analysis form for this webinar
  • You must have access to a computer/laptop in a location where you are not disturbed.

Attendance Requirements: It is advisable to contact your County Association in the first instance to find out if they provide a similar service as it is preferable to undertake CiLCA training locally.

About the Trainer

Sue Hobbs FSLCC, has worked in the local council sector in a variety of roles since 1995, starting as a part-time assistant clerk for a medium-sized council near Southampton for six years, progressing to being appointed as full-time clerk/Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) for a further fifteen years. After passing CiLCA in 2007, Sue provided councillor training on a self-employed basis. Graduating in 2014 with a First Class Honours degree in Community Engagement and Governance and winning the AON prize for best performance at Level six, Sue worked as a self employed locum clerk. Sue joined the Community Governance teaching team after graduating and is a personal and module tutor for Level four students. More recently, Sue has become a CiLCA trainer and mentor, taking responsibility for the operations management of the CiLCA qualification with Pauline Whitehead in January 2022.
