Overview

After 56 years, football finally came home on 31st July!  And the success of the Lionesses has shown us how important it is that all of our children and teens, boys and girls have access to outdoor space to play. So how do we tackle the fact that most skateparks, MUGAs and other teen provision are dominated by boys and young men?

What tools are available to make sure that in your Community, Town or Parish there is space for girls to play? This talk will examine the positive role that the Public Sector Equality Duty can play in supporting you and your councillors to make better decisions for more inclusive spaces.

Led by Simon Goacher, partner at national law firm Weightmans LLP (specialising in supporting local authorities) and the team from Make Space for Girls, a charity that works to make parks and similar spaces more welcoming to teenage girls, this webinar will explain the duty and discuss practical steps to make it work for better outcomes for your community.
