Overview

Managing people is the most challenging part of the job for many leaders. You might feel that nobody will do the job as well as yourself and if you have to spend time explaining to someone the ‘how to’ and then check their work, you might as well do it yourself. It doesn’t have to be this way. Understanding your team through Active listening skills and learning about individual needs, motivations, and personality traits, you will be able to identify strengths and weaknesses of people you work with. This will then enable you to only delegate tasks you know they are good at, especially as deadlines are approaching fast. Managing people is more about understanding them and how they differ from yourself.

In this two-part webinar we will look at Active Listening Skills to help you hear what isn’t being said, we will look at four different personality traits to help you see why you get on with some people better and clash with others and how to make it work to your advantage. We will also cover needs your team members have and varied reasons they turn up to work and we will also discuss healthy boundaries. Being a good manager doesn’t mean that you have to say yes to everything or do everything yourself. And lastly, we will talk about behaviour triggers and why some people behave like children.
