Overview

The government has embarked on major and far-reaching reforms of the planning system in England.

This webinar will outline the key aspects of the reforms that will have implications for clerks (and the sector in general) in England, and how they are likely to work in practice. This includes ‘street votes’ and ‘neighbourhood priority statements’ as well as the emphasis on community led development, plan making, meeting housing need, and energy efficient and low carbon development.

There will be a particular focus on the new National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), which the government published in late December 2023. The NPPF sets out the government’s planning policies for England and how these are expected to be applied.
