Join the fourth event in SLCC’s Big50 series!

This event is now fully booked.

This unique, interesting discussion session with Professor Steven Griggs from Staffordshire University will explore the headline results of the 2021 Sector Survey, building upon the Local Governance Research Centre’s exclusive feature article in the November 2022 edition of The Clerk magazine.

This lunchtime session is fully participatory, will be interactive, and participants who sign up should be willing to join in with the discussion which will focus on the challenges of improving governance across local government and specifically:

  • How local councils are engaging with the Seven Principles of Public Life
  • Whether councils are adopting the Local Government Association Model Councillor Code of Conduct
  • How councils are working with principal authority monitoring officers
  • The extent to which colleagues have experienced behavioural issues

We’re keen to hear your views on the topics above and explore ways forward for the sector as part of SLCC’s Big50 series – celebrating 50 years of the professional body for local council clerks and senior council employees.

This event is open to members only. This event is now fully booked.
