Overview

Learn how to maximise the benefits of OS mapping and the PGSA

This webinar will provide you with more detail on how to maximise the benefits of OS mapping and the PSGA. You’ll have the chance to work through some live applications showcasing case study examples of how map data can be used to support town, parish and community councils.

About the trainers:

Nathan Davis is currently a Geospatial Consultant working in the Consultancy and Technical Services Team in Ordnance Survey. He joined Ordnance Survey in 2019 following six and a half years in GIS roles within Local Government. During this time he was the PSMA Principal Contact and LLPG Custodian for 4 authorities. His current role is as Technical Relationship Consultant for the South West of England, supporting Local Authorities and Blue Light services in the use and benefits of Ordnance Survey Mapping. Nathan has also been supporting Local Resilience Forums in the Covid-19 crisis, helping them to get maximum use from the use of OS data supporting crisis management.

Denis Payne has been a Parish Councillor for 25 years (and is currently chair of Histon & Impington Parish Council), and involved in the GIS & digital mapping industry for 30 years, most of it in Local Government. He’s been involved at the national level since 2007, and was instrumental in getting access to OS mapping for Local Councils. Denis is now the nominated Subject Matter Expert to the Geospatial Commission for Local Councils. He authored the NALC “Digital Mapping Toolkit” in 2018, and continues to work to help Local Councils make good use of and get the benefits from digital maps, particularly those available from OS under the PSGA (Public Sector Geospatial Agreement).
