Government Announces Design Code Pilot Areas

17 March 2022

The government has announced that 25 areas in England, including one local council (Weymouth Town Council), have been awarded a share of £3 million to help them set their own standards for design.

The money will help support local councils and neighbourhood planning groups to produce local design codes, which will set out important design features such as street character, building type and layout, and use of public space.
