Government confirms fracking moratorium and shelves proposed easing of planning rules

The Government has confirmed a moratorium on fracking in England.  This statement, follows new scientific analysis, In addition the Government has announced that it has dropped proposals to ease planning rules, including the introduction of permitted development (PD) rights for fracking exploration schemes – a proposal which the Society objected to.
