Government Publishes Consultation Paper on New ‘Right to Regenerate’

2 February 2021

The Government has published a consultation paper proposing the reform of the Right to Contest in England which enables the public and others to request that publicly owned land is sold where it is unused or underused. The aim is to make it easier for individuals and groups, including town and parish councils, to identify, purchase and redevelop vacant land and buildings in their area.

Further information can be found on the Government website here.

SLCC has opened a short online poll to help form a response to the consultation which closes 13 March 2021.
