The Secretary of State for Housing Communities and Local Government, Robert Jenrick MP, has stated that the government’s long-awaited response to the Planning White Paper will come later this year (it was scheduled for the Spring). He also stated that while reforms to the planning system are central to the government’s agenda over the coming years, he is not intending to “to rip up the planning system and start again”. He was speaking at the Local Government Association’s Annual Conference 2021 held this week.
