A vacancy has arisen to join Heckington Parish Council in Lincolnshire as Clerk and RFO.  The Parish of Heckington, with a population of circa 4,000 residents, is a lively, large village and the Council is a very proactive one, as are the many other varied voluntary organisations.  This is a public facing role which is office based.

Hours: 22 Hours per week

Salary: pro rata, based on experience and qualifications NJC LC1 SP 5-17

The Responsible Financial Officer role comprises all financial matters, including payments of accounts, regular bank reconciliation, precept and budgetary involvement using Scribe Accounting Systems.

The Clerk role is administrative and advisory, including but not exclusively, meeting preparation, general correspondence, handling queries from members of the public and liaising with other Councils departments. Full working knowledge of Microsoft programmes is essential, knowledge of Council procedures would be an advantage. Likewise, a CiLCA qualification would be desirable but not essential.

The most sensitive role is managing the Cemetery: arranging for plots, meeting families often at their most vulnerable time and ensuring all legal paperwork is complete prior to internment.
