Administration Assistant

Cheadle Town Council is seeking to appoint an Administration Assistant to assist the Clerk
to manage the council’s statutory requirements, financial and burial records, prepare and send agendas, issue correspondence as a result of instructions of the clerk, or the known policy of the council.

The ideal candidate will have experience with office systems, be familiar with researching and gathering information and be capable of using their own initiative.

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to work in close partnership with the clerk and a range of local bodies and organisations including the unitary authority. You will need to combine relevant technical knowledge with good communication skills.

If you feel that you meet these requirements, we would like to hear from you. Ideally candidates should also have a reasonable knowledge of local government law and procedures.

Salary: NJC – SCP 1-5 (£17,364 – £18,795) (pro rata)
Dependant on experience & qualifications.
Opportunity to join Local Government Pension Scheme.

Job Type: Part Time – 22.2 hours per week worked over three days.

Holiday entitlement: 21 days per annum rising to 26 after 5 years of service plus 2 extra statutory days (pro rata).
