Shipley Town Council is a parish council working at the first tier of local government.  The Council seeks to serve the needs and aspirations of the people of Shipley, with an overall aim of improving quality of life for all.

The council requires an organised and flexible Administrative Officer to join a small team.  The post-holder will report to and work closely with the Town Clerk. Together with the eleven members of the council, the team will provide representation, services and facilities to Shipley’s residents, businesses, community organisations and visitors.

The post-holder will be expected to perform a range of administrative tasks with minimal supervision, although full training will be provided. Regular hours will be 18.5 per week (0.5 of full time), to be worked flexibly from the town centre office and from home, by agreement.  Regular evening working, averaging one meeting per week, will be required, with very occasional weekend work.

The actual starting salary will be National Joint Council for Local Government Services Scale Point 10 (actual: £10,661), progressing to Scale Point 12 (actual: £11,092).
