Assistant Clerk and Executive Officer

Llantwit Fardre Community Council is seeking to appoint an innovative, forward-thinking person to assist the Clerk and Executive Officer in managing the council’s statutory requirements.

The successful candidate will, in the absence of the Clerk & Executive Officer undertake the respective duties and will advise the council on, and assist in, the formation of policies in respect of the council’s activities. On occasions the Assistant Clerk & Executive Officer/Assistant Responsible Financial Officer will produce and present reports for Members to enable them to take effective decisions and will then assist the Clerk & Executive Officer in implementing those decisions.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in local government and have experience in managing staff together with influencing and communications skills.

The appointed person will also be the Assistant “Responsible Financial Officer” and will work alongside the Clerk and Executive Officer in ensuring that all financial records of the council and administration of the finances can be effectively audited on an annual basis.

The post of Assistant Clerk & Executive Officer/Assistant Responsible Financial Officer is challenging and duties will require occasional evening and weekend working which is reflected in the salary being offered. If you feel you meet these requirements then we would like to hear from you.
