Lymington and Pennington Town Council is looking for an experienced, motivated individual to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer/Town Clerk serving a population of approx. 15,500 with an annual budget of £1.35million. As the Proper Officer of the Council, you would be based at the Town Council offices. We operate hybrid working arrangements. Occasional evening and weekend working is required.

The coastal town of Lymington has a rich history from its beginnings as an Anglo-Saxon village, in the early 19th century it became a thriving ship building industry. That continues to the modern day with three marinas and a hive of yachting activities. Every Saturday the historic Lymington Charter Market takes place, managed by the Town Council, it continues to be well supported both with traders and visitors.  The Town Council is also responsible for the largest open Sea Water Baths.

In contrast Pennington village is a combination of rural and residential and has been the focus of housing development in recent times.  Pennington Common is a designated Site of Special Specific Interest and managed by the Town Council.

This varied role is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to be responsible for a wide range of amenities, management of 20 staff, delivery of local projects along with the day to day running of the Town Council and its statutory duties.
