Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer

Cromhall Parish Council is looking to appoint a part-time Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. This is a permanent, home-based position, working 10 hours per week including attendance at monthly evening meetings.

The successful candidate will be highly organised and have high levels of administrative and financial skills and the ability to guide and advise councillors on a wide range of issues to ensure the parish council complies with policies, procedures, and regulations. The current precept is £22,330.00.

Applicants should be confident in working alone and be able to prioritise and meet tight deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential as are IT skills and experience of managing a website using WordPress.

Knowledge and experience of working within a Local Government environment is desirable but successful applicant will be expected to have, or to be willing to start working towards the CiLCA qualification within one year of employment.

Salary: depending upon skills, experience and qualifications, is graded LC1 (above substantive range) SCP13-17 – £23,023 – £24,920 (per annum, pro rata to hours worked, pay award pending).

Benefits: home working allowance (in accordance with HMRC rules) and NEST pension.
