Job Title: Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer

Vacancy from: 01 December 2021

Hours: 25 per week incl. 1-2 evening meetings per month.

Salary: Up to £31,750 pro-rata depending on qualifications and experience

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) to join our team. This is a senior role within our organisation and is the “Proper Officer” of the Council having responsibility for its financial and administrative affairs including the custody of council documents and records.

The parish, which is located on the outskirts of Fleet, covers the housing development of Elvetham Heath and a handful of surrounding properties with a population in excess of 4,000 residents. The Parish Council was established in April 2010 and is very active – organising events & a monthly market as well as maintaining all the facilities and open spaces in the parish. There are also plans for some exciting projects in the near future. The Clerk supports a council of seven members with elections due in 2022 and manages a team of 3 part-time members of staff working together to deliver the Council’s services & facilities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, community-focused person with excellent interpersonal, administrative, financial & IT skills. Previous Local Government experience is desirable, and you will either already hold the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) or be prepared to qualify within the first two years of your employment.

You will be based in the Council Office in the Key Centre. Council & committee meetings are currently held on Monday evenings.
