Chesterton Parish Council is seeking applications for the post of Clerk to the Council. This is a part time, permanent vacancy for 15 hours per week. The role involves some evening meetings, generally held in the local Community Centre. A parish council laptop and mobile phone will be provided, in addition to other Council equipment such as a printer.

We are looking for someone who is familiar with computerised systems and a working knowledge of Microsoft office 365. Excellent organisational, communication and presentation skills are essential; knowledge of website maintenance an advantage.

Salary offered is pro rata to the national scale LC2 (18-23) of between £27,344 and £30,149 a year for a full time (37 hrs a week) equivalent. Starting scale point would depend on experience, with progression through the pay
scale dependant on training and performance. Benefits include company pension, sick pay and the ability to occasionally work from home. Training will also be provided. Parish Council employees are engaged on the NALC model contact. Experience of working in local government would be an advantage but not essential.

The Clerk will be responsible to the parish council as a corporate body and will play an integral role in serving the parishioners of Chesterton parish. This is a varied and interesting position with challenges to the village from infrastructure and other developments in the local area.
