Annual salary of £37,890 to £42,821.

Purley on Thames Parish Council is seeking to recruit a fulltime, qualified Parish Clerk.  Managing a part-time team of two, the clerk will ensure the delivery of the council’s services and facilities. The parish council values its clerk as an integral part of the leadership team.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, flexible and community-focused.  They should have a “hands on” style and sound interpersonal, administrative, financial and IT skills.

The clerk is normally based in the parish council office with some hours of home working negotiable. During the Covid-19 crisis we would expect the clerk to work from home with time in the office as appropriate. Attendance is required at up to 20 evening meetings per year (currently held virtually).

Purley on Thames, with an electoral roll of 3,600, is a vibrant West Berkshire community sited between an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Reading.  The parish council is active and forward-looking, managing a range of facilities that are valued by local people.
