Chippenham Town Council is one of the largest councils in the town and parish sector with a revenue budget of c£4m and 75 staff working across several locations in the town. We are developing a four-year strategic plan, with the aim of continuing to deliver our award-winning services whilst putting climate and environmental concerns at the heart of all we do.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our officer team and help us achieve our ambition of becoming a carbon neutral organisation by 2030 and helping the wider Chippenham community towards carbon neutrality.

You’ll be working with our Climate and Ecological Emergency Advisory Group and leading the development and delivery of the Council’s action plans, including overseeing major projects, engaging with community groups and raising awareness.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, confident, have excellent project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people. We offer flexible working, training and development opportunities and a generous pension scheme.

If you are knowledgeable about the causes and impacts of climate change and the protection and promotion of the ecological environment, with a positive and proactive approach, we would like to hear from you.

If you would like an informal discussion about this role, please contact Matt Kirby on 01249 446699.
