Community Engagement and Climate Change Officer

• 16 hours per week
• Salary on the Local Government Pay Scale SCP13 – 17: £11.76-£12.73 per hour
• The post includes entry into the Local Government Pension Scheme
• Working from the Civic Centre

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who can fulfil this pivotal role to lead on the delivery our Climate Change Action Plan.

In this role you will work with other council staff, councillors and engage community organisations, businesses, individuals and other public agencies to improve environmental sustainability working towards Warminster becoming Carbon Neutral by 2030.

You will also engage with, promote and support community groups and organisations in Warminster, working to strengthen their viability, sustainability and volunteer infrastructure.

The successful candidate will have good communication and organisational skills are needed and will need an enquiring mind with proven abilities in problem solving, multitasking and teamwork.

Warminster has a population of approximately 17,000.  The town council has a budget in the region of £1.3 million, employs over 20 staff and provides a range of services to residents from the town park and public toilets to play areas and a road sweeper.
