Deputy Chief Executive (Training & Advice)

Applications must be returned by 02/02/2022 17:00

Leicestershire and Rutland CALC provides member services to parish and town councils across the two counties. As part of the Association’s commitment to improving the first tier of local government we have an immediate vacancy for someone to join our small busy team as Deputy Chief Executive with specific oversight of training and advice services to member councils.

There will also be responsibilities for other key areas of LRALC service delivery, as well as working closely with and deputising for the Chief Executive.

You should have:

  • Previous experience of parish and town council law and procedure
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Proven organisation, planning and time management skills
  • Outstanding presentation skills and the ability to encourage and motivate people
  • IT skills and the ability to write clearly and keep accurate records and systems

This exciting role is a permanent position and will be a key role in helping the Association to continue to develop and grow its business activities following our transition to a limited company in April 2018. The post comes with attractive terms and conditions, including a workplace pension.

The post holder will normally be required to work 37 hours per week, including semi-regular evening and very occasional weekend working.  Working patterns are flexible and will be discussed at interview and with the successful candidate.

We will consider requests for the role to be home based but we have an office base at Anstey Parish Council and remote working and travel will be part of the role. Training will be offered to the successful applicant.

We wish to appoint a driven and dedicated individual to help develop LRALC during this exciting phase of its life.
