Newark Town Council is one of the largest town councils in the Midlands serving a population of around 32,000 and with a gross spend of approximately £2million a year.

The activities and services delivered by the Council have increase significantly in recent years and the Council has ambitious plans for further expansion.

We have created a new post of Deputy Town Clerk to add capacity to our existing dedicated staff team. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity which could ideally suit the clerk to an existing smaller town or parish council looking to develop their management skills and professional career.

Newark-on-Trent is an attractive and historic ancient market town containing over 360 listed buildings. It is surrounded by beautiful villages along the Trent valley, yet house prices are 25% lower than the national average.
