Deputy Town Clerk

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an established Town Council in the historic market town of Maldon, Essex. The Council seeks an efficient, reliable, and resilient individual to provide support to the Town Clerk, as part of a small, friendly team, and assist in the administration of council and committee business. Day-to-day, the role will be to support the Town Clerk and councillors, liaise with members of staff, local authority officers, and members of the public. You will be involved in the organisation and management of civic and other town events run by the Council, and in maintaining the Council’s premises in conjunction with the Town Clerk. In the absence of the Town Clerk, the Deputy Town Clerk acts as Proper Officer.

SCP 18 (£29,269) to SCP23 (£32,076) per annum, pro rata.

21 hours per week: normally Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Plus an additional 25 hours per annum to attend and minute Town Council meetings.
