Chiddingfold PC wish to recruit a Parish Clerk as the present Clerk is moving to further her career. The duties and responsibilities are varied and include administrative and organisational tasks to fulfil the democratic duties and responsibilities of the council. Experience and qualifications in local government (including CiLCA) are desirable but not essential, however a willingness to study to achieve CiLCA is required. Finance, HR, Legal or a managerial qualification and/or experience preferred.

The right candidate will need to have good communication and administration skills, be able to work independently as well as part of a team, and work with the Assistant Clerk/RFO to deliver the council’s services and manage its facilities.

Applicants ideally will have previous experience in a similar role and be able to have a flexible approach. This is a role which offers a lot of variety and good inter personal skills are essential, as much of the work involves liaising with other authorities and agencies and helping residents.

This is a full-time position – 37 hours per week, but flexible working is offered, at home and at the Parish office, which is centrally located in the village. Some evening work will be required (paid at time and a half).
