Parish Clerk

We are seeking a self-motivated person to manage the Council office and hold overall responsibility for the work of the Parish Council. The Clerk (Proper Officer) will not hold the position of Responsible Financial Officer, but they must have a good, working, financial background. They will also be responsible for staff management.
The successful candidate will, under normal circumstances, work full-time from the council office at Wendover’s Clock Tower. They will lead a strong, committed team, in advising and guiding the parish council in its deliberations and implementing its decisions.
They must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; the ability to understand and interpret local government law; possess skills in financial management; experience in line management; a willingness to learn and show a positive response to challenge and change. Experience in office IT is essential.
37 hours per week (includes some evenings & weekends)
Salary: LC2-3 SCP 35 – 42 £31,401 – £38,052 (based on experience & qualifications)
Ideally the successful candidate will hold a CiLCA qualification or be prepared to work towards achieving that qualification within the first 12 months of joining. Local council benefits such as a pension scheme, training and holiday pay will apply.
