Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer

The newly created Staple Hill and Mangotsfield Parish Council is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic person to take on the post of Parish Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer.
The ideal candidate will have strong administrative and organisational skills with an interest in the local community. The role will be split between an office and home so requires access to broadband and good computer skills.
Ideally the candidate will have some knowledge of the procedures of local government and/or the role of the Clerk, although training is available as well as an annual training package. The successful applicant must hold the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) or be willing to achieve the qualifications within 12months of taking the position.
The Clerk is responsible for ensuring the council meets its statutory duties, preparing agendas, taking minutes, dealing with correspondence, liaising with contractors and local government officials, managing account sand the financial obligations of the council, organising audits and the administration of the parish council website, publicity and social media.
The salary is based on 37 hours per week and will be calculated according to the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) rates dependent upon qualifications and/or experience but will be within the range SCP 22-26 £28,898.48 – £32,900.40.
