Lyneham & Bradenstoke Parish Council is looking to recruit a proactive, energetic and committed individual to the post of Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational, numeracy, and computer skills; hold a CILCA qualification or equivalent; preferably have current experience working for a Parish or Town Council. The preferred candidate will live within a 20 mile radius of Lyneham, be able to drive and own their own vehicle. The successful candidate will be expected to work from home with a laptop, printer and mobile phone provided by the Parish Council. No other staff are employed at the moment but the successful candidate will be expected to manage contractors employed by the Council.

Lyneham & Bradenstoke Parish Council is a medium sized Parish Council located in North Wiltshire, south of Royal Wootton Bassett. It comprises the two villages of the name, with a combined population of 5320, and the MOD Lyneham Defence Technical Training facility on the doorstep. It owns a Public Toilet in Lyneham, Allotments in Bradenstoke, two Childrens Play Areas, one in each village, a large playing field and dog walking area in Bradenstoke and The Green in Lyneham, home to many attractive trees. The Precept for 2020/21 is £48,704. The Parish Council has been through some difficult times in recent months but has turned a corner, with its administration now on a sound and legal footing. The Councils website and IT provision is currently undergoing an overhaul. There is still much to be done and the 11 Councillors are very keen to continue to improve the services offered to the residents of both villages, as well as working closely with community organisations and MOD personnel.

The position is for between 12 and 15 hours per week initially. The starting salary is negotiable according to qualifications and experience but will be within the LC2/3 range – Scale Points 27 to 39 – £15.86 to £21.66 per hour.
